Getting Our Hands Dirty...

Rob and I have the week off and we've spent most of our time outside
doing yard work.

Since we just moved into the cottage last summer,
this is first time we've really gotten our hands in the mud and got to work.
We're talking weeds, people.  Lots of em'

And I shouldn't say I've done much.
I supervise and keep my work light.
I wish I could do more

Take care of your yard!  It deserves love, too!

Sit Down and Stay Awhile

Two more work days and I'll be off for a two week spring break.
amen.
I'm looking forward to relaxing and spending some time focusing on the house.
Inside and out.
This 80 degree weather (in March!) has me feeling the urge
to revamp the flower beds and take on some serious
spring cleaning on the interior.

The other day Rob and I took a stroll and ended up at Restoration Hardware.
A very rare occurrence, since my baby carrying days have me acting
more like a home body than the full-fledged
shopper/window shopper that I once was.
We stumbled upon a gorgeous adjustable linen chair on casters
 with hand turned legs.
holy canoli.

It's being advertised as a office or library chair.
However, we are using them in the family room on opposite sides of our sideboard.
They are much larger then they appear online.  I'm a happy camper.

While the nursery is our priority, Rob and I would like to get the family room
and kitchen (ugh... the ongoing kitchen) in order before the little one arrives.

The next items on our list are the crib and the rug for the nursery.
We're leaning towards the DaVinci Jenny Lind crib in cherry.
The spindles are amazing. Love.

I'm on the hunt for a oval shaped jute rug.
Something with vintagey goodness.

Here is some nursery eye-candy for those who enjoy rooms for little people.

The wallpaper, the mostly white back drop, and the peaks of the ceiling
create such a sweet resting ground.
I need to find that bunny.

I can't wait to get to work.  I'll start snapping pictures over the next few days!
Stay tuned!

I Spy...

Hi lovely friends and sunshine.
I've missed you both.
I really miss blogging.
But I can't seem to bring myself to doing it often.  My little man won't have it.
5 months in and it still feels like I'm on a boat...daily.
Boy, I'd do anything for him!

The nursery has been my number one priority lately.
I have some things to show (that I've spied)...
but of course, I saw a few things that
were non-nursery related that I wish I could splurge on.

My lovely husband surprised me on an exhausting day of work
with the chandelier that I posted on a past blog entry.
I'm surprised that Rob was/is okay with crystals in his little boys room.
A real man.  He sure is.

I spied and purchased this comical print at a local TJ Maxx.
I'd love to frame the print in a gold antique frame
and hang it above his changing table.
We'll see.  If it ends up looking cheesy, it didn't break the bank.

I found this lovely rocker at Arhaus furniture.
I barely rounded the corner before I proclaimed to Rob...
I NEED to own that.

It's an antique bentwood rocking chair.
The sales associate told me it's one of their relics and that they only got one.
I've never seen a bentwood with the double scroll.
I'm hoping it's a good one...
because my mom and step-dad purchased the chair for my birthday gift.
I'll pick it up today to make sure it fits in the room!

Here are some other things that stopped me in my tracks at Arhaus.
Sorry the quality of this picture is awful
I took the picture with my phone and it looks great on there.
Anyway, this corner cabinet is awesome.  Wish you could see the details.

This rolling pin table lamp is crazy!
I don't have a place in mind for it, but I think it's super unique.

Every nursery needs a hamper.
We ordered this one from Pottery Barn.

I want this for Baby D, too!
Smart, Wisteria.
I know I won't need one for awhile, but it's so gosh darn cute.

It's my birthday weekend and I look forward to sharing it with those I love.
I hope your Saturday is as sunny as mine!
