Knee Deep in Laundry Details

I obsess over the details.
If it were up to my husband, pictures would be hung
and rooms would be complete.
I, on the other hand, search endlessly for those perfect touches.
To put it lightly, I'm currently knee deep in the design of our home.

By the way... those socks are to die for.
I can't help but room jump.
Antiquing leads me to move about the cottage.
A treasure here...
...a treasure there.

Does this happen to anyone else?
Please, say YES!

Despite my room jumping, we've been focusing on
completing our laundry room.
I posted some of the laundry design elements in a past blog entry.
Here's a sneak peek of what we're currently working with.

We're working on a drapery project.
Between the washer and dryer and the shelf is
empty space where you can see the plumbing in the wall.
Not ideal.
{an earlier progress picture}

Since many of our guests will enter from our side door,
we needed to brainstorm ideas to make the plumbing look
less intrusive and less of an eye sore.
We decided that making mini panels that could open and close
at will would solve our dilemma.
We could easily hang a curtain rod and use curtain clips
to hold our self-made mini panels up.
Something like this.

But we're leaving our machines visible and closing up the empty space.
It's likely I'll add some fancy decorations behind the curtain.
When I do laundry, I need something pretty to gaze at.
We're adding the pom pom trim to the edges of the curtain
to add some whimsy and fun!

I can't wait to show you all the finished room!
Time to get working.
